This is your A4 sheet. The cut line separates message and key.

How the secret code generator works

Type a message above, for example “The treasure is under the doormat”. Then pick a secret code. The generator instantly shows an A4 sheet: the encoded message on top, and below a cut line the key to decode it. One click on “Print” and the sheet is ready. No sign-up, no waiting, nothing leaves your browser.

Six secret codes to choose from

  • Symbols – every letter becomes a sign. Three sets: geometric shapes, the classic pigpen (Freemason) cipher and animals.
  • Number code – A = 1, B = 2 … Z = 26, with an optional offset so A does not start at 1.
  • Caesar – every letter moves a fixed number of places along the alphabet. With a cipher wheel to cut out.
  • Mirror writing – real mirrored lettering, you need a mirror to read it.
  • Morse code – dots and dashes like a radio operator.
  • Backwards – the text runs back to front, as a whole or word by word.

For parents, teachers and kids from 7

The sheets are made for everyday use: a treasure hunt in the garden, a riddle in the advent calendar, group work in class. The key is cut off and handed over separately, so the message stays a real puzzle. The optional solution line for parents can be switched off with one checkbox so it does not end up on the child's sheet.

Print, save as PDF or share as an image

“Print” opens your browser's print dialog, where you can also choose “Save as PDF”. “Save as image” creates a print-quality PNG of the sheet – handy for sending. “Share link” puts the whole state into a link; the message then lives in the link itself and is stored nowhere.

Frequently asked questions

Is the secret code generator free?

Yes. No sign-up, no download wall, no watermarks. Everything runs in your browser.

Are my messages stored anywhere?

No. Encoding happens entirely on your device. Only the “Share link” button puts the message into the link itself – and even then nothing is sent to a server.

How do I print the sheet correctly?

Click “Print” and choose A4 portrait without scaling. The cut line separates message and key so you can hand them over separately.

What age is this for?

From about 7, once children read confidently. Symbols and number code are the easiest; Caesar and Morse suit ages 9 and up.
